In July 2010, Ravi Shastri and his assistants were appointed as head coach of the Indian national team. After the World Cup, their contract expires. Now the question that is taking place in the Indian cricket field, will the BCCI agree to extend the contract with Shastri and his teammates?

The simple answer to the question is, no! Shastri will notify the BCCI contract to increase the duration of the contract to appoint a new coach. After the World Cup, there will be a gap of about two weeks, the appointment of the coach will be interviewed. The World Cup starts on May 30 in England, on July 14. The Indian team will go to the West Indies by the end of July.

The BCCI will want to implement the process of recruiting the new coach before that. If for any reason the coach is not recruited, the BCCI may appoint an interim coach for the West Indies tour. Why is Shastri going to complete recruitment again? The matter was not clear at first. India has a record in the recent T20 and ODI series against Australia, but India’s record is very good.

India has won all the trophies in the field of Australia. Not at all, the BCCI is not satisfied with the work done by Shastri. The trouble is that, when Shastri was appointed in the last term, there was no such condition in the appointment letter, if both sides wanted the extension of the contract. That is, the agreement ends with the expiration of the contract! Along with Shastri, he will have to take this fate as well as his assistant luggage.

Sanjay Bangar-assistant coach, Bharat Arun-bowling coach, and Sridhar-fielding coach. A BCCI official, on condition of anonymity, said, “There is no condition to extend or renew the contract extension from the time of Anil Kumble’s contract with the coaches and assistants. And if India won the World Cup, Shastri would have to face the new recruitment process. But as the current coach, he will get a direct place in the short list.

The three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will be formed as soon as the new coach of India is recruited. After the qualification of the applicants as a member of this committee, shortlisted by Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly will make a short list. Shastri is not going to be the primary choice. He will go straight to the short list. But after the committee’s verdict of the three-member committee, he will return to the post. But when the process is over, Shastri will also interview the other coaches in the short list as well as the trio
